You can now right-swipe to delete, or long-press to enter multi-select mode and select all the ones you want to delete (the X over a line is the delete icon in multi-select mode).Īnother option is that on the downloads page, click the 3-dot menu and select "manage downloads". If anything feature request a cloud upload fix and we might get an update out of them but ehhh, if anything maby some of those will help :)Īpp storage is in the shiftyjelly.pocketcasts folder or something like thatĬlick profile. Go through the downloads and get rid of/star the ones you don't care about on pc, sync of stars is quite good in my experience Unlikely but maby get a new phone with bigger storage, add everything to upnext sync it over to redownload it, I know getting a new phone is unlikely If you download via the webapp it keeps the rss file name so you could do that too and then just upload to the cloud & clean up after Just deal with the encoded names and take them off your device and upload them all onto the via the webapp, it will take the encoded names tho but they will be at least on the cloud, If you select pocketcasts it will load into files and you can rename from their 1 a time tho which would be alot of work If you click the share icon on a downloaded episode you can open file in. The encoded names change on every device so pocket casts won't pick up the name unfortunately, I don't think so anyway hear are some solutions. On the other hand, I left it because a few iTunes versions ago it began quietly unsubscribing you from anything it’s algorithm determined you don’t listen to enough. It’s not a great interface but at least your files aren’t locked into a single device. Now that I have a new phone, I’m looking at Downcast (which I left because it used to overheat an old phone), Overcast, and even Apple. There’s not even a way to flag which episodes are saved on a device so that your account can perhaps mark them, making it easy to at least re-download to another device using a filter. The app’s Files option has to be done one by one and requires you create human names for each episode. It may have changed but I know it used to be that if they turn on sharing in iTunes then you should be able to migrate files to the desktop (probably with gibberish titles, though). It’s irritating since that means if/when you need a new phone you either lose any backlog (quite a few which aren’t permanently online) or you have to keep the old device as a sort of podcast player. I was told that “Apple requested” they remove the feature because of how it affects backup sizes. I had a brief email exchange about backing up downloaded podcasts.
